Brooks Camp, Katmai Alaska is a visitor attraction where Alaskan Brown Bears can be observed from the safety of viewing platforms as well as walking through the camp. The Falls offer an amazing opportunity to watch salmon spawn while bears, including moms and cubs fish. The Rangers work hard to maintain a distance of at least 50 meters between people and the bears. A lottery system is in place to secure a spot at the camp, and travel is via floatplane from Anchorage or King Salmon. There is a gated bridge between the camp and the falls that will be upgraded this winter to allow visitors to travel above ground from the camp to the falls. Witnessing bears in their natural habitat is an opportunity of a lifetime!
